Poland, two days in

verittyЗабавно: от Гданска, притом что он милейший, красивый город, нет ощущения что я могу там прожить неделю, А ОТ ВАРШАВЫ ЕСТЬ. ВОТ ПРЯМ СРАЗУ. она такая вот... живая, в отличии от трогательного старого города Гданска. хотя казалось бы, там тоже не все прям так туристично, и обычно везде все по-польски общаются, а вот. интересно, это зависит от места моего проживания? того, что здесь я живу вроде бы в центре, но не в старом городе вот вообще.
мне кажется, это потому, что здесь нет ощущения того что ВСЕ УМЕРЛО просто потому, что темно (и уже полдесятого было, когда я в центре оказалась), все такое живое, и ЗДАНИЯ ЭТИ ГИГАНТОМАНСКИЕ. знакомое такое все.
насчитала четыре старбакса, они реально в Европе (и США наверн) бешено плодятся, как у нас КофеХаузы. интересно что у нас будет через лет пять - Старбакс у нас только пару лет, и только последний год он начинает вылупляться уже в больших количествах. но засилье КХ и Шоколадниц, а также безумное количество маленьких кофеен-одногодок, препятствует его серьезному распространению, мне кажется.

Interesting how I didn't feel like I could easily spend a week in Gdańsk, as wonderful and pretty as it felt; I knew I didn't visit as much as I could have, but I wasn't exactly leaving with regret — now WARSAW, christ, just an hour in I knew I could spend much more than two nights here. It just feels... alive, or it feels familiar, so alike Moscow, I don't know — maybe it's how the city isn't dead just because it's after 9 PM, or maybe it's just that I'm living in the centre, but not in the Old Town which, though pretty, doesn't really differ from one European town to another.
I've counted four Starbucks, lol — it's really a plague in Europe (and US, I'd guess) — like our CoffeeHouses. I wonder what will the russian coffee places situation look in five years, since we've only had Starbucks for a couple years, and it's only this year that they've really started to pop up in many places, but I think they're still hindered by thousands and thousands of CH and Shokoladnitsa's, as well as a trillion billion tiny cafés and coffee spots with a life span of one year, if not one month.
